Race & Healing™ is our signature course. It is the most powerful and stimulating training program available in the field of diversity and multi-cultural training today.
This course is designed to give participants a thorough awareness and understanding of the richness that diversity offers to an organization. This is accomplished by moving attendees beyond any initial apprehensiveness to full participation in finding creative ways to end the division between groups of people.
Transformations creates a non-confrontational, safe environment for individuals to share a variety of views and approaches in order to remove the obstacles of fear and denial that perpetuate separation. By so doing, it provides a vehicle for problem solving and better decision making.

Transformations can present a one hour awareness class or our complete 40 hour in-depth course. We work with our clients to assess the needs and develop a course that will address their specific issues and improve their organizational environment.
Course Outline Race & Healing™ transforms thinking and perceptions about “race” and brings diverse people together as equals. The facilitation allows participants to connect and build bonds - a result that is far reaching and long lasting. The curriculum is designed to help people understand and recognize the pathology and patterns of the disease of racism. It touches both the head and the heart and results in attitudinal and behavioral changes. The full 40-hour program is designed to open new vistas of understanding, to dispel myths and stereotypes, to interrupt the cycle of racial conditioning and to begin a healing process. Participants bond and are empowered with a new sense of justice and equality for all. First... our program provides an in-depth definition of race, racial prejudice and racism. The factors affecting the development of racism are explored and the cycle of conditioning studied. Individuals examine the impacts of early disempowerment and how white males are sometimes unproductively blamed for unresolved frustrations. Next... our program studies how attitudes are perpetuated and why we continue to have separation and issues. We investigate and demonstrate how racism is acted out through stereotyping, discrimination, internalized oppression and the loss of cultures. Finally... strategies for eradicating racism and building unity are highlighted. The program wraps up with intervention techniques, reconnecting skills and a means to build partnerships as a way to heal. Individuals leave the course understanding and enthused about their role in ending the racial divide.
